Proper maintenance keeps your golf cart running reliably for years. Here are the 5 most important things to do regularly.
Electric carts need proper water levels in each battery cell. Use distilled water only, and check when batteries are fully charged. Low water levels can permanently damage batteries.
Check tire pressure monthly. Under-inflated tires reduce range and cause uneven wear. Most golf cart tires need 18-22 PSI. Check sidewall for exact specs.
Corrosion on terminals reduces performance. Clean with a mixture of baking soda and water, then apply terminal protector spray. Do this every 3-6 months.
Have a professional check motor brushes, bearings, and electrical connections once a year. For gas carts, also change oil, spark plugs, and air filter annually.
If storing for winter, fully charge batteries, disconnect cables, and store in a cool dry place. For gas carts, add fuel stabilizer and run engine briefly to circulate it.
